YOUTH NEWS!

SUNDAY MORNINGS: We have some awesome things to study on Sunday mornings in the "Youth Lounge,"
3rd floor west wing, at 10:00 a.m. Hope to see you there!

Beginning with Back to School Sunday on August 16th, Rusty Davidson will resume teaching the youth Sunday School each week, and I (Jenny) will be the backup/second person, although there will be times we need a substitute teacher or substitute backup. So let me know if you are interested in being available to help teach youth Sunday School once in a while.

SUMMER MISSION TRIP: June 25 — July 1
Where? Heifer Ranch, Perryville, AR
What?   The Global Challenge Program
Why?    To connect with a community that is actively learning to end hunger and poverty while caring for the earth.
More info at : www.heifer.org.

UMYF - SNACK & MEETING:
6/21 — No UMY (evening youth group) — Happy Father's Day!
6/28 — No UMY — most of us will be on the Mission Trip
7/5 — No UMY — Holiday weekend
7/12 — YES UMY! Come at 5pm! However, we won’t have a snack supper, so eat beforehand, and we’ll join the All-Church ice cream social and VBS kick-off that goes from 6:30—7:30. Or, just eat ice cream for dinner. I come from the Bill Cosby "Let them eat Chocolate Cake" school of nutrition anyway. Also, youth should wear comfy clothes and shoes, because we are going for a walk (unless it's raining.)
7/19 — No UMY
7/20 — HA! Yes UMY! MONDAY UMY, not Sunday evening, we will go out to Grace UMC in Olathe and play games and activities with them.
7/27 — No UMY. My son Drew is 9 years old today. Help!

INSTITUTE at Baker University: Second Session is July 20-25
More info and video at : www.kansaseast.org.

LOOKING AHEAD:     Download Calendar (pdf)
8/2 — NO UMY One service Sunday

8/16 — Back to your Regularly Scheduled UMY programming! It's also Back to School Sunday — New 7th graders join us for Sunday School in the youth lounge, and we will have UMY that evening, 5-7pm, with snack supper.
8/23 — UMY — 5-7pm with snack supper
8/30 — 5th SUNDAY YOUTH USHER. Please let me know asap if your child is available, and I'm offering 1st come 1st serve on which service you want, so if they want to sleep in a little longer they should volunteer NOW for the 11am service. Plus UMY at 5pm with snack supper.
"The Dance" is scheduled for Friday, September 18th, so mark your calendars now!
