Closet Full? Donate Warm-Weather Clothing!
Cross-Lines is accepting clean, gently used spring and summer clothing.
Please keep your cold-weather clothing until fall. Cross-Lines does not have space to store off-season
clothing. Good furniture and household items are always welcome for the Cross-Lines Thrift Store.
Find the collection box outside the east entrance to Hager Hall (near the soda machine).

Food for Cross-Lines
The food pantry at Cross-Lines Community Outreach is in need of dried beans — especially Pinto beans,
canned pasta such as Spaghetti-O's or Ravioli, and canned or powdered milk. Pick up an item for Cross-Lines
when you do your shopping and place it in the shopping cart in the hall in front of Asbury's Nursery and Parlor.
It needs to be filled with food for Cross-Lines! Please give generously.

Please consider being part of Asbury's ministry to homeless families in Johnson County, by volunteering for Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN).
Coming to Johnson County in 2003, this program is affiliated with a national advisory corporation called Family Promise, Inc. and about 100 other similar programs
in the U.S. The sole purpose of IHN is to assist families in Johnson County that are homeless.
A number of local faith communities, like Asbury, support IHN and their guests by providing shelter and meals on a weekly rotation.
Asbury has a real need for NEW volunteers to help with our next rotation. If you are interested please note that training is required.
Training sessions are scheduled frequently. (see above)
If you have any questions please contact Asbury's coordinator, Linda Stinnett, at 913-341-5763.

"Cell Phones for Soldiers"
|
What about this old cell phone? Two teenagers have a wonderful solution for all of us when we ask this question.
Brittany and Robbie Berquist established "Cell Phones for Soldiers" in 2004. It's simple, easy and free.
Just deposit your unwanted cell phone in the camouflage box in the West Narthex. For each cell phone
donated, a one hour calling card is sent to a soldier stationed overseas.
Minimize weight and help us save on
postage by donating only the cell phone. Batteries, chargers and accessories are not required as the phones
are recycled. From this program more than 400,000 prepaid calling cards have been sent to soldiers.
