Alan Murray - Director of Music -
Originally from Roswell, New Mexico, Alan Murray studied instrumental music, theater, sound and lighting techniques at New Mexico Highlands University and earned his B.M. in Voice from New Mexico State University. Alan met his wife, Catherine at Arizona State University while completing his Masters Degree in Vocal Pedagogy.
Alan worked for the UCC Church in Scottsdale, AZ as Director of Music and sang with a professional choir (The Phoenix Bach Choir) prior to moving to Kansas City in 2002. He is adjunct assistant professor of voice at Johnson County Community College, a tenor with Kansas City’s professional choir, The Kansas City Chorale and Director of Music at Asbury.
In addition to enjoying KC’s arts and music festivals, Alan loves introducing new people to what Church Music can be about, and challenging current Church-Go’ers to explore new ways to keep their faith alive through music.

Amy Cramer - Organist
Amy spends her weekdays accompanying for the Shawnee Mission North and Bishop Miege Choir Departments. She and her husband live in Prairie Village with their three children, Cameron, Tom and Abby.
On occasion, Amy enjoys friendly suggestions for her repertoire, however, she has drawn the line at playing Pink Floyd for a bride walking down the aisle. She plays for our 8:50 worship service Sunday mornings.

Cheri White - Accompanist
Cheri grew up in Mission, Kansas. She attended Old Mission United Methodist Church and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. She received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from KU. She is married and has two daughters, Robin and Holly.
Cheri has performed, taught and accompanied in many venues. She has served as Music Coordinator at St. Paul’s UMC, directed 7 choirs and prepared music for the worship services. Her passion is letting God work through her with music, and showing others how they can do the same.

Bev Ramsburg – Handbell Choirs
Bev grew up in Atchison, received her B.A. in music education in Emporia and works as a member service representative and loan officer at Credit Union 1 of Kansas. Here at Asbury she directs the large bell choir as well as various bell ensembles, sings with the praise group “Christ-in-Sight” and keeps everyone’s spirits up full time! Besides her passion for music, Bev also loves reading books.

Darrell Ramsburg – Accompanist
Darrell grew up and attended school in Emporia, KS, where he received his Masters in Music Degree. Darrell ‘says’ he’s retired, but in actuality he plays in 5 bands all over Kansas City, he is the pianist at our Saturday evening services, leads the instrumentalists and plays keyboards in our praise band, “Christ-in-Sight”, and plays handbells! Darrell’s other great passion is watching sports.

Linda James - Choral Librarian
Linda keeps our choirs running smoothly as our librarian (and Sunday morning page-turner, as needed!). She works as secretary for a local church in Johnson County and enjoys playing piano, swimming, baking, drawing and listening to great music.
