An education is truly the key to escaping poverty. Remember how exciting and important it was to have brand new school supplies each year? There is no better way to encourage children than to help them be well supplied for a new school year.

In July, Asbury will once again collect school supplies for Cross-Lines Community Outreach.

YOU can help — Print this page and go shopping! Look for the "little red school house" that will be located on the church's front lawn (facing 75th Street, where we sell pumpkins in October). We will be "open" to receive school supplies the last two weekends in July.

Volunteers will be needed to man the school house. Please think about how you will be helping in this important Christian mission. This is a community outreach program, done in conjunction with UMW (United Methodist Women).

In August, Cross-Lines Community Outreach will distribute 1600 packets of school supplies to kids from low-income families in Kansas City, KS.

Another option is to make a monetary contribution. Make checks payable to Asbury UMC and write "Cross-Lines School Supplies" in the memo. Each kit costs about $20.
