Steve Langhofer - Senior Pastor Steve's E-mail
|
Born in Abilene, Kansas, he lived briefly in Manhattan, and grew up in Lawrence. He was baptized in the E.U.B. Church, but was confirmed a Methodist. While attending worship during his college years he began to consider ministry as a calling and vocation.
A graduate of the University of Kansas ('71, B.A. in English), and St. Paul School of Theology ('75, M.Div.), Steve has done clinical pastoral education in psychiatric and general hospitals, and a Presbyterian church. Since becoming a full member of the Kansas East Conference, and being ordained elder in 1976, Steve has also pastored churches at Lansing-Jarbalo, Council Grove, and St. Paul's in Lenexa.
Steve and his wife, Karen Anderson, are parents of four children: Lanson, Molly, Bree, and Adam, and several granddogs.
Next to preaching, Steve's great passion is connecting with people currently outside the Church who are hungry for the nurture, challenge, and joy that comes from knowing and following Christ. He's a jogger, a movie buff, a sometime photographer, and a continuing student of Leonard Bernstein, Jimmy Carter, and Ken Medema.

Pat Flowers - Associate Pastor of Administrative Ministries Pat's E-mail
Pat has followed as God has led her into the ordained ministry and regularly given her affirmation that she is where God wants her to be. She follows the call to reach out to others with the love of Christ. The rewards are far greater than the effort it takes. Pastoral Care is an area of ministry that Pat has developed a real passion for and is able to continue that part of ministry by being a Stephen Ministry Leader.
After retiring from AT&T with 27 years service, she earned a Master of Divinity degree from Saint Paul School of Theology and was led to be ordained an Elder in the Kansas East Conference. Pat was an active lay member of churches in Ohio, New York, New Jersey and at Asbury.
She served as a Chaplain at St. Luke's Hospital (Kansas City), Pastor of Trinity UMC (Leavenworth), and Vinland UMC (Baldwin), and as Pastor of Caring Ministries at UM Church of the Resurrection (Leawood) before returning to Asbury in June 2000.
In addition to Stephen Ministry, Pat oversees the Administrative Ministries e.g. financial activities, support personnel and the facility management functions, required for Asbury.
Pat and her husband Cliff enjoy traveling and being with their family, which includes nine grandchildren.
