July Collection: School Supplies
a Community Outreach program
|
In conjunction with UMWomen, Asbury is collecting school supplies for
Cross-Lines Community Outreach.
Perhaps you remember how exciting and important it was to have brand
new school supplies each year. There is no better way to encourage children than to help them be well
supplied for a new school year. An education is truly the key to escaping poverty. Get a complete
list of supplies needed and go shopping!
Collection will be at the "little red school house" located on the
75th Street front lawn, (where we sell pumpkins in October). We will be "open" to receive school supplies
July 18, 19, 25 and 26 from 8:00 a.m. — 6:00 p.m.
Volunteers will be needed to man the school house in two hour shifts.
Sign up sheets are available at the Schoolhouse in the church greeting area.

One Service Sundays
First Sunday of June, July, August
|
|
To worship with our church family, we will all get together for one service on the first Sunday of each month this summer.
Sunday, August 3rd, worship will be in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. with Sunday School at 9:00 a.m.
Saturday worship will still be held at 5:00 p.m.
|
After-Church Picnic and Potluck
Following Worship, Sunday August 3
|
Barbecued meat and drinks will be provided, but we are asking that friends and members with last names
A-M bring a side dish and N-Z bring a dessert. Food can be dropped off in the Hager Hall kitchen starting
at 9:30 a.m.
After lunch, make sure to stay for some summer fun with both indoor and outdoor activities for all-ages until
1:30 p.m. Games include: Bingo, sand volleyball, three-legged races, sponge relays and pop toss, as well
as face painting and a bounce house for the kiddos.
Sponsored by Asbury's
Faith & Fellowship Team.
